What exactly is Tuition Log?
Tuition Log is a lightweight lesson-note and student-memory system built for one-to-one tutors.
You write one quick post-lesson note, and Tuition Log helps organise it into a clear student timeline, memory snapshot, next steps, to-do items and a parent or learner update.
Who is Tuition Log for?
Tuition Log is designed for independent tutors who teach the same students regularly.
This includes academic tutors, music teachers, language tutors, singing teachers, art tutors and other one-to-one educators.
Do my lesson notes need to be tidy?
No. Tuition Log is designed for quick notes, short phrases and brain dumps.
You can record topics covered, scores, homework, reminders and anything you want to remember. Tuition Log then helps turn that rough note into a more organised record.
Does Tuition Log create lesson plans or worksheets?
No. Tuition Log is not a lesson-planning or worksheet-generation tool.
It is designed for what happens after the lesson: recording what you covered, preserving the student's history, identifying next steps and helping you know where to pick up next time.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan lets you manage up to three active students.
It includes lesson histories, memory snapshots, extracted to-do items, English parent or learner updates and a manual payments ledger.
What do I get with Pro? PRO
Tuition Log Pro costs £25 per year and is designed for tutors with more than three active students.
- Unlimited active students: Manage your full student list without the three-student limit.
- Multilingual updates: Draft parent or learner updates in their preferred language.
- Custom memory rules: Tell Tuition Log which details you want it to pay particular attention to.
- Automatic balance deductions: Set a lesson rate and automatically deduct it from a student's prepaid balance when a lesson is logged.
- Everything in the Free plan: Keep all the core lesson-history, memory and follow-up features.
Why is Pro charged annually?
We wanted Tuition Log to remain affordable for independent tutors without becoming another expensive monthly subscription.
At £25 per year, Pro is intentionally priced to cost less than one typical one-to-one lesson.
How do parent or learner updates work?
When you save a lesson note, Tuition Log can draft a clear update using the information you have already written.
You can review and edit the draft, then copy it into WhatsApp, text or email. You do not need to write a separate report from scratch.
Does Tuition Log send messages automatically?
No. Tuition Log drafts and organises the information, but nothing is automatically sent to a parent or learner.
You remain in control of what is shared and can edit the wording before sending it yourself.
How do multilingual updates work? PRO
Pro users can add a parent's or learner's preferred language to their student profile.
Tuition Log can then draft the update in that language while keeping your own lesson notes in the language you originally used.
You should always review generated and translated text before sharing it.
What is the memory snapshot?
The memory snapshot is a living summary of the information that matters most for the student right now.
It can highlight current progress, strengths, recurring difficulties, active goals and other details you may want to see quickly before the next lesson.
What are custom memory rules? PRO
Custom memory rules let you tell Tuition Log which details are especially important in your own teaching.
For example, you might ask it to track mock-test scores, workbook page numbers, recurring grammar errors, pieces of music being practised or particular weaknesses you want to monitor.
How does the payments ledger work?
You can record payments against each student, including prepaid blocks of lessons.
For example, if a parent pays £200 in advance, you can add that amount to the student's balance and keep a clear record of the payment.
How do automatic deductions work? PRO
Pro users can set a standard lesson rate for each student.
When a lesson is logged, Tuition Log can automatically deduct the appropriate amount from the student's prepaid balance. This makes it easier to see when another payment is due.
You remain responsible for checking that financial records and balances are correct.
Is my student data secure?
Tuition Log uses account authentication and database-level Row Level Security so signed-in users can access only the student records associated with their own account.
You should still use a strong password, protect access to your account and store only the information you genuinely need.
What student information should I avoid entering?
Only enter information that is relevant to managing the student's tuition.
Avoid storing unnecessary or highly sensitive personal information, such as medical records, passwords, identity documents or financial account details.
Is my data used to train public AI models?
Tuition Log does not use your lesson notes to train its own public AI model.
Where third-party AI providers process your notes to create requested features, the information is used to provide that service in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. You own the information you enter into Tuition Log.
You can export your records and can edit or delete student information when it is no longer needed. You can also contact us at [email protected] if you need help with your account or data.
